Position Overview:

The Data Quality and Insights Specialist is a people-oriented, technically savvy resource person who assists prospective families with their membership registration process, as well as current Girl Scout families and volunteers with renewal, role identification, and application requests related to the membership lifecycle.

The person in this role serves as a data quality expert to ensure accurate data entry informs reports and insights used throughout the organization. The role reports to the senior manager of Data Quality and Insights. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week that is benefits eligible.

· Customer Service – Goes above and beyond to ensure current and prospective members and their families feel supported in the process of registering and renewing their memberships.

· Judgment, decision-making and problem-solving – Recognizes when immediate action is required to solve a challenge or obstacle and recognizes when sufficient information has been obtained to make a decision with our members’ best interests and our mission in mind.

· Team-builder – Collaborates proactively and positively with other staff to create an environment of transparency, information-sharing, and accessibility.

· Data Quality – Strives to attain high levels of data integrity, while understanding the relationship of membership data to reports that inform membership goals.

Essential Duties:

  • Optimizes use of technology to ensure that girls and adults are registered as Girl Scout members
  • Ensures data integrity through attention to detail and accuracy of data input
  • Creates and distributes reports that inform and monitor membership strategies at the council and local community levels, in partnership with other membership staff
  • Interprets membership data for council-wide business insights
  • Provides training and support for troop and service team-level volunteers who assist with registration
  • Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity
  • Ensures compliance with national/ local Girl Scout policies, as well as federal/state regulations
  • Models behavior consistent with the Girl Scout Mission
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
  • Available to work a hybrid schedule both remote and in person as assigned


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience and demonstrated track record in database management
  • Exhibits excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Technical computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook); customer relationship management systems (Salesforce); and social networking tools
  • Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and influence others to achieve results
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with diverse people
  • Must be able to accomplish seasonal projects and prioritize daily duties

Compensation: $24.36 an hour
